With our latest blog post coming after a long hiatus, here we are!
From a pattern of regular enjoying the opportunity to share what is happening at Highwood Furniture in our blog posts….
To getting to know a whole new way of meeting and interacting with our customers regularly…..
2026 has been the year we stepped into a physical premises as we become the latest custodians of The Joinery Coffee Shop in Meigle. A pie in the sky dream of a place where we can create a space that reflects our love for wood and share it with others has become a very real reality.
It has been a whirlwind. But work in the Highwood Furniture workshop has done nothing to reduce. Recent projects include:
A very unique coffee table housing a 120 million year old fossil
A fitted kitchen in an exciting house restoration
Live edge solid timber worktop
Fitted shelving and cabinets
Mounted stag trophy
Window Restorations
our latest range of Sgian Dubhs - which have quickly sold. More to follow soon!
And an ever increasing retail range of our smaller items - many of which can now be seen in the Joinery coffee shop.
We have also been delighted to welcome Owen to the team. He has been supporting with our projects over recent weeks and months and alongside increasing our capacity to take on a range of projects has allowed Colin some much needed thinking space and strategic project focus.
We have also welcomed John as supervisor at The Joinery, working closely with our much loved and established team to continue to offer the Joinery’s warm welcome, great coffee, home-baking, and freshly prepared light lunches.
This all allows both Colin and Hannah to focus on what we love the most - building, restoring, and generally appreciating beautiful furniture and wooden products; and finding ways in which we can share this with like-minded people.
And we are looking forward to the next exciting projects - will yours be one of them?
