Would you like to create a lovely hand-bound botanical journal?

We at Highwood are delighted to announce a collaboration with Perthshire Artisan, Jan Curle, who will lead you step-by-step through the process of book-binding at The Joinery, Meigle on Tuesday 21 July 2026 from 3-5pm.

Cost is £40 per person.

Refreshments will be provided.

You will create a journal with a botanical-patterned cork leather cover and will wax colourful linen threads ready for stitching. Each stage will draw you deeper into this enjoyable traditional craft, you’ll soon be engrossed.

This workshop is suitable for beginners (age 16+ years), although a small degree of manual dexterity is advised. Safety will be paramount whilst using bookbinding needles and awls. Workshop participants will be sent written instructions after the event.

There is even the option to pop into the Joinery for lunch or a snack before the workshop begins.
